About Me

Having recently felt the bitterness of a guild disbanding, I thought I'd post a little something about myself that I could perhaps use in case anyone was looking for recruits.

Shaya was born in early 2001, a few months after the release of Neverwinter Nights. I had purchased the game wanting to get into roleplaying and I was part of one of the top 5 NWN guilds, a roleplaying guild unlike any other, Broodslayers. I wanted a character with somewhat of a storyline behind it [I won't bore you with details] and thus, Shaya Loriana Fein was born. In NWN she very much resembled a night-elf which stood out like a sore thumb in that Tolkien-esque world [Forgotten Realms, to be exact]. Needless to say this created some obstacles and interesting encounters in roleplaying [what the heck are you? where'd you come from?] but it was all very much fun. I didn't hold an important position within the guild and I didn't really want to, I was a casual player as I am now and didn't want the responsibilities that came along. I played a reclusive, lone wolf kind of role, but I was involved and everyone knew me well. I still am part of the guild, but I am inactive.

Along came World of Warcraft

When the open beta started, I was all over it. Shaya transferred over, and I managed to take her from Teldrassil to Darkshore, getting her somewhere around level 24 if I remember correctly. Then retail hit the shelves and, once again, Shaya was reincarnated. Kestutis, a good friend from the Broodslayers Guild in NWN and I tried to re-create our beloved guild in WoW. We recruited some awesome people with whom we made friends and for a while it was good. Unfortunately neither Kestutis nor I had the time required to lead the guild, organize events and so forth and slowly but surely people went off in their own direction. We have decided to disband, but keept in touch. In the meantime Kestutis went to the Horde and I thought I'd give that a shot too. I have an undead warlock, Toranaga, about who you can read below and joined an awesome and mature rp-oriented guild, but I remained active on the Alliance side. Shaya has a brother, Isilan, a night-elf priest who dedicates himself to banishing evil and aiding those in need.

The experiences on the Alliance side have been bitter-sweet at best. I enjoy role-playing and I look for substance, I don't like power-gaming but that's not to say I don't have an interest in PvP or raiding. I'd like WoW to be much like a good fantasy novel. I had the honor and pleasure of questing with great players that I will forever remember. I have gone through the pain of guilds dying off and disbanding too many times now, which made me wonder if I am doomed to forever walk the land of Azeroth alone, with no place to call my home. I have no choice but to be optimistic about it and look to new opportunities.

What I am looking for is a close-knit guild on the RP-side that's not too dedicated to a certain and strict goal because I've learned that it can and will be detrimental to the little things that truly matter. A guild made up of easy-going, friendly and mature members is what I long for. I would much rather be part of something small but strong and family-like than big and uncertain.

What you can expect from me.
Well, first off, my schedule is chaotic at best. I don't think that I can provide a steady, predictable playtime. However, I am very dedicated and very loyal. I don't easily just turn tail and leave guilds, even if something bothers me. I'd rather talk about it than just say screw it and /gquit.

I know how to play my classes and I do it pretty well. I am dedicated, mature, open minded, loyal, persistent, helpful, easy to get along with, friendly and positive. I don't ask for much, just for a quality bunch that I can have fun with.

A New Beginning

At long last, this day Shaya has attained the highest level of training currently available, at sixty seasons' worth.
The last stretch was completed while on a raid in Scholomage where she was also able to obtain her much sought for Beaststalker's cap [not pictured].

World of Warcraft account created on:
November 23, 2004 7:48 AM PST

Total time played:
19 days, 38 hours, 14 minutes

Now that I have completed what training was available to me, I will embark on a pilgrimage tracing back some of my early travels. I shall first return to origin, the great forests of Teldrassil, then to Darkshore, followed by Ashenvale. And from there on, we'll see where fate carries dear Whitefang and I and, let's not forget, adorable Mini Diablo. During this time, I will spend one day for each season's worth of training either helping those in need, or in quiet contemplation. It is my way of paying back what I have been blessed with by Goddess Elune. I will carry in my thoughts my brother Isilan, my dear guildmantes and all the old friends that I long for; Daishanar, Callysto, Excido, Locke, Kestutis, Sarienn and many others.

My equipment has not been chosen at random and each serves a purpose.
I shall wear the garnments of the late Arcanist Doan slain by my hand, as a symbol of triumph over that which is evil and wicked in this world.
Archeus, the sword of the antipaladin Morgan Ladimore shall be in my sheath, as a reminder that falling to the dark side always has the most dire of consequences.
Master hunter's bow, rewarded by Hemet Nesingwary for whom I have the utmost respect, a fine bow indeed which has downed many enemiese of mine shall also acompany me, as a symbol of one hunter's pride and also to show that hard and honest work is never out of style.
I shall bear the mark of the Argent Dawn as a symbol of my dedication to our faction.
Whitefang will be at my side at all times, a sign of teamwork, cooperation, unequaled companionship, dedication, sacrifice and love.

I strongly believe all of the above will send a positive message for those that are willing to stop and pay attention and they will also set the right tone for the newcomers to this wonderful, unique and fascinating world.

And thus does a noble hunter mount her nightsaber and swiftly disappears into the deep woods, followed by her trusty feline and her little pet demon from another plane of existence.
